Lincoln will be opening pools, but they will be limiting the number of people who will be in there at any one time. Some cities won’t even open at all. While the idea of putting in an in-ground pool sounds like a good idea, so you can bypass the whole social distance swimming, having one installed is expensive and takes a long time to put in.
Then there is the above ground pool; less costly (between $600 and $2000, depending on size, ease of installation, etc.) and fairly easy to install.
But what would be easier?
A cattle trough/stock tank. Yep, that is the new pool…AND it is considered to be stylish. Oh ya…and between $300 and $600 from Tractor Supply Company.
Now, anyone who has lived, worked or visited a farm, would not consider their cattle trough as “stylish”, though many of us have taken a dunk in one at one time or another on a dare…or just cuz it was just there.
They say that “necessity is the mother of invention”, which is how cattle troughs became the thing people are putting in their yards for that summer cool-down.
Some have been prettied up and, if you didn’t know, some don’t even look like a trough.
With public pools closed, lots of people are looking for home options. But above-ground pools aren’t always the most attractive things to put in your yard. So, apparently, the new trend is: Buying a large steel CATTLE TROUGH and using it as a pool. pic.twitter.com/5Se3PbUXLz

There is the more rustic look:
In the end, it’s an option, even if you just need to dangle your feet in the water, it is something to think about.
