It's A Good Thing If You Have A Boring Desk Job

Punch in, punch out. Rinse and repeat, day after day, month after month, year after year.

Sounds boring, doesn’t it? A lot of time, people want challenging jobs that bring them excitement and a bit of drama. It is always the dream to have a great job that gets you excited to get up and go to work.

Now, I am not describing a bad job, that is something completely different. But a boring job do three times better on cognitive tests than those who find their jobs challenging, according to the University of Cambridge in England.

What is interesting is that this research contradicts previous research, in that “physically inactive” careers help people who repetitive tasks, reading and memory retention.

That isn’t to say your “physically active” job isn’t good for you, but maybe…just maybe, that boring job could help you as you get older.
