Lincoln Police are looking for the gunman who shot and wounded a man inside an apartment in the 1500 block of D Street around 10:30 Monday morning.
A witness reporting hearing gunshots and a male voice say that he had been injured. When officers arrived, they observed several shell casings and a blood trail leading up to an apartment. Officers searched the area but did not locate any victims at that time. A short time later, officers were notified that someone had driven the 23 year old man to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the foot that is not considered life threatening.
Officers were able to determine that this injury was a result of the gunshots fired in the 1500 block of D Street. Investigators served a search warrant on the apartment where the shooting took place and processed the scene for evidence. During the search of the residence, investigators located evidence of narcotics activity.
