Lincoln Police were called to the Nebraska Republican Party office at 1610 N Street on May 1st and 8:30 a.m. to investigate a burglary.
People passing by saw the building’s north door had been broken and called police. Officers arrived and called staff to review security video. They saw a man throw a brick through the window around 2 a.m. and walk inside. The man took two 2-liter bottles of soda and left.
There is no indication this incident was politically motivated. The damage is estimated at $700 with a $5 loss. This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is encouraged to call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
