Keys Left Inside Unlocked Car Found Totaled Sunday

Lincoln Police were called to an accident around 3;30 a.m. Sunday morning near 27th and Cornhusker where a vehicle had rolled. There was no one inside the the 2016 white Infiniti Q50. Police spoke to witnesses who said the Infiniti was southbound on North 27th from Fairfield Street in the outside lane when it hit a concrete barrier causing the vehicle to roll.

The occupants of the vehicle got out and walked away on foot. Officers contacted the owner of the vehicle who said they had left it parked, unlocked with the keys inside in their apartment complex parking lot at 60th and Meridian since around 9 p.m. They did not realize their vehicle had been stolen until they were contacted by police.

Officers processed the scene for evidence, interviewed witnesses, and are requesting video from the area. The vehicle was valued at $17,000 and is a total loss.
