An ongoing drug investigation that began in Roca last month led to the arrest of a Lincoln man Wednesday night. The case began on June 28 when LPD investigators with the Lincoln/Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force served a narcotics warrant in Roca.
Investigators found methamphetamine and a variety of other drugs as well as a loaded Rock Island Armory 1911 .45 caliber handgun. Based on the evidence and interviews with other people involved, investigators developed probable cause and obtained a search warrant for a home near 27th and P Street. On Wednesday around 10:00 p.m investigators located 33 year old Luke Kenney inside the residence as well as .3 grams of a substance that pre-tested positive methamphetamine.
Police also found 7.7 grams of marijuana, $220 in cash and a digital scale. Based on the evidence and suspect interviews, officers arrested Kenney for Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Money while Violating a Controlled Substance Statute. All three are felony charges.
