Banished Words Of 2022

By Steve King Jan 3, 2022 | 11:24 AM

Cliché’s ain’t they great?

If you hate them, but use them anyway, or want them stricken from the English language, completely, you aren’t alone.

According to Lake Superior State University, they did a survey and have added those phrases to the Banished Words List.

While this is all in good fun, it is an example of how we overuse certain phases.

Easy now, it isn’t part of cancel culture.

Here are the words and phrases, the 1200 people surveyed said should be banished for all time:

  • Wait, what?
  • No worries
  • At the end of the day
  • That being said
  • Asking for a friend
  • Circle back
  • Deep dive
  • New Normal
  • You’re on mute
  • Supply chain

With that being said, we should have no worries at the end of the day, as we should circle back for a deep dive and figure out what a new normal would look like. Thar being said, we should really look at our language’s supply chain and say to them, you’re on mute…wait, what? Hey, just asking for a friend.
