A 57 year old Lincoln man is sentenced to 20 1/2 years in prison for four counts of production of child pornography.
In November of 2019, the Lincoln Police Department received a report from DHHS that a mother said inappropriate photos of her minor daughter had been taken by professional photographer, Gregory Dightman.
LPD served a warrant for Dightman’s home and studio area where the photos where taken. Dightman did speak with law enforcement and admitted that he knew the girl, new her age and that he had taken photos of her.
Dightman’s devices were examined and through interviews with other young women, it was determined that he had created pornographic images of at least four females who were then minors. That happened between 2009 and 2019. The victims were between the ages of 16 and 17 . The investigation revealed that Dightman would pay the victims for the photo shoots. Between the four young women, approximately 590 images were recovered.
Dightman was also sentenced to 10 years of supervised release on each count with the sentences to be served concurrently. There is no parole in the federal system. Dightman was also ordered to pay $12,000 which will contribute to funds established for the victims of these types of cases.
This case was investigated by the Lincoln Police Department and the FBI.
This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
