LTU officials say Old Cheney Road from South First Street to Hunts Drive will be closed for sidewalk construction beginning Monday, May 8. The project is scheduled to be completed the next day.
The recommended detour is Warlick Boulevard to South 14th Street. Local access to the Wilderness Park trailhead parking lot off of Old Cheney Road will be maintained.
This project will construct sidewalk on the north side of Old Cheney Road, between the Jamaica Trail and the existing sidewalk east of the BNSF Railway. The project will include earthwork, sidewalk, and driveway construction.
Digital signs will alert traffic to upcoming work and closures. Travelers are encouraged to seek an alternate route.
