Two people were arrested Thursday evening following a multi-county pursuit on Interstate 80 in eastern Nebraska, according to the Nebraska State Patrol.
Around 7:06 p.m., troopers were notified of a blue 2021 Kia Forte traveling westbound near mile marker 433 with stolen Illinois license plates. Omaha Police’s Able-1 helicopter located the vehicle at a nearby rest stop. When a trooper approached, the car fled westbound on I-80.
Troopers temporarily discontinued the pursuit as Able-1 tracked the vehicle from the air. The Kia exited onto 238th Street, looped back onto the interstate, and eventually reentered westbound I-80, reaching speeds up to 125 mph.
A trooper deployed stop sticks near mile marker 410, bringing the vehicle to a halt near 120th Street and Highway 6. Both occupants fled on foot but were quickly found in a nearby field with help from NSP AirWing and Able-1.
The driver, Courtney Fletz, 30, was arrested for flight to avoid arrest and theft and booked into Sarpy County Corrections. The passenger, Dylan Pinkston, 31, was arrested for obstructing a peace officer and booked into the Lancaster County Correctional Facility.
