Lincoln Police have released more details in the shooting death of a 32-year-old man outside a downtown bar early Sunday morning. Assistant Chief Jason Stille says Gregory Little was shot several times by a security guard around 3:00 a.m. at the Royal Hookah Bar near 16th and ‘O’ Street.
Stille says a preliminary investigation shows Little got into a disturbance with several patrons over cutting in line. “At some point the security team from Omaha intervened and that’s when either Mr. Little or someone else in his group took a baton from the security team.”
Stille says the disturbance continued out on the sidewalk where the security team tried to get the baton back. “At that point a 24-year-old member of the security team discharged his firearm at Mr. Little.”
Stille says Little was shot four times and had wounds to his arm and chest. CPR was attempted at the scene, but Little died at a local hospital. LPD has interviewed several people, including the security guard. So far no no one is in custody and the investigation is continuing.
Stille is asking anyone who may have been injured during the incident to come forward to help investigators. LPD is also asking anyone with information about this incident, including video recordings, to contact Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or if you would like to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
