More Masks Are Being Required. Here Are Major Retailers Who Say It Is A Must

No matter what your position on wearing masks is, truth is, more and more places are requiring them. It could be your work, your church, schools, etc. We have 2 choices, really, comply or don’t partake. If you plan on doing any kind of shopping a number of businesses are taking a stance on masks at their stores.

Something to consider when a business requires them is they feel they are keeping their employees safe, their customers safe and protecting themselves from lawsuits if someone gets sick because of their store. As such, since they are private businesses, they do have the right to refuse business (kinda like no, shirt, no shoes, no service.)

It was announced earlier this week that Walmart will now require masks when you enter their stores, effective July 20th.

Just so you know these retailers have also taken the same precautions.

  • Sam’s Club (Walmart’s club sister retailer, so this is no surprise)
  • Costco (they were one of the first to do this, which they caught a lot of flack for it, as well. Seems as though they were ahead of the curve on this one)
  • Best Buy (they have had their inside of their store closed to the public and spent a lot of time with their contact-less pick up, which has actually helped their business, but now that the store front is open, they are requiring masks)
  • Starbucks (When they opened their lobbies [in some places], they required them)
  • Dollar Tree (point blank, wear one)
  • Menards (they have had a mask requirement since last week. For a period of time they were not allowing children under 16 in, for safety reasons. They have since changed that policy)
  • American Eagle (They along with most mall-based retailers are requiring them and some stores are limiting the number of people inside at any one time)
  • Kohl’s (They will require them this weekend July 20th)
  • CVS (not too surprising that a pharmacy would requirement, but their policy begins this weekend, July 20th)
  • Target (You have some time to prepare for this, but effective August 1st, they will require face coverings)

Like it or not, the masks are here to stay, at least for now. It would probably be a good idea to keep one in the car, if you want to go to your favorite store, cuz if you don’t, you may be turned away.
