Most people expect ice cream to be a traditional summer food. There is the assumption that everyone likes it and seeks it out.
That assumption would be wrong.
When it comes to eating ice cream in the USA, we might be surprised to find that Nebraska ranks toward the bottom of the list, but when it comes to the top…California, Oklahoma and New York are the biggest consumers.
Normally I don’t care about the research company that found these interesting statistics about ice cream, but the company is called Gravy Analytics… which made me giggle and thought I would share it with you
Keep in mind this survey was done back in 2016 and 17, so our taste buds may have changed in this post-pandemic world we are in
Now to answer the question that’s on everyone’s mind, what states rank at the bottom? That dubious honor goes to Wyoming, Alabama and, the very bottom, Minnesota. Of course that means that Nebraska isn’t at the top or the bottom.
Out of 50 States in this Union, Nebraska ranks 35th on the list of the most ice cream consumed across this wonderful country of ours. Maybe it’s because we still see too much snow. Maybe it’s because we don’t like ice cream with our birthday cake. Regardless, we are 15th from the bottom.
In the end, we have 2 choices, eat more ice cream or stop it all together.
Here’s where you can see the whole list.
