Lincoln Police have arrested a man accused of accused of assaulting a woman and holding her captive in a basement for several hours. On July 3 just before 11:00 p.m. LPD officers were called to a parking lot in the 2900 block of NW 12th Street where a 40 year old woman told officers that her ex-boyfriend held her against her will and assaulted her.
She says 42 year old Curtis Rollie came into her home around 3 p.m. , pointed a gun at her, and refused to let her leave the basement for several hours. She said Rollie also punched her in the side of the face, causing bleeding and a minor injury.
Officer Erin Spilker says the woman later convinced him to let her leave the house with her children to watch fireworks. Officers found Rollie in the basement, but he refused to come out. Rollie complied after officers warned him that they would send down a police service dog.
Officers also located two handguns in the residence believed to be involved in the incident, a 9mm handgun reported stolen in November of 2020 in Lincoln and a .22 handgun reported stolen out of Chatanooga, TN.
Rollie was cited and booked for Terroristic Threats, Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony, Domestic Assault, Resisting Arrest, Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person, False Imprisonment and Possession of Stolen Firearm.
