Lincoln police were called to the 2700 block of South 66th Street Place at 12:36 Thursday morning to investigate a shooting. They found a glass door shattered, bullet shell casings and a blood trail leading out of the residence.
Around the same time, police were called to a hospital. A 24 year old male and a 21 year old female had been taken there by a private vehicle. The man had a gunshot injury to his left arm and the female had been shot in the back of her left thigh and her inner right thigh. Their injuries’ are not life threatening and both are expected to recover.
Police spoke with witnesses and believe the victims were targeted. They do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public. The search for suspects continue.
