What do you do with a goldfish when it dies? You flush them down the toilet, right? But what do you do when you don’t want them anymore?
Good question.
It seems that in Minnesota, people are tossing the fish in lakes and ponds and it is really causing a problem…like a MASSIVE problem.
One thing to know about goldfish…and many fish, in general, they will grow to the the size of their environment. There is a reason that goldfish are small when they are in a fishbowl or a tank. Their bodies can only get so big or they will outgrow the the place they live. But when you toss them into a lake…well, they grow.
Do NOT abandon your goldfish and dump them into ponds and lakes, one Minnesota city decries.
The City of Burnsville released images of enlarged goldfish found in one lake along with the warning.
