Chicken Nuggets, Milk And More Missing From School Lunches This Year?

By Steve King Jul 27, 2021 | 8:27 AM

Over the last 18 months we have heard about shortages in food, building materials vehicles, computer chips, the list goes on and on.

Now the shortages we have been seeing our culminating as we get the kids back to school.

It might be time to invest in a lunchbox and teach the kids that peanut butter and jelly sandwiches aren’t such a bad thing when you bring them from home.

The Wall Street Journal has pointed out that as we head back to school, we are going to be seeing shortages of everything from can from canned fruits and vegetables, hamburgers, chicken nuggets, juice boxes,  boxes of milk and EVEN THE TRAYS!

Yet while we can blame the supply chain issues as being a contributor to the sole problem, but a lot of people forget is that schools were not at 100% for the last year and some change, which has put suppliers a little behind the 8 ball when it comes to when it comes to amounts and items for the school menus. In many cases, school districts didn’t even know if they were going to be back to full capacity until a couple of weeks ago.

But fear not, school lunches will be served, though the menus may be paired back a bit.

As for LPS, we have not heard if this will hit us here and if it does, how bad. We shall soon find out.
