Lincoln Police were called to the 2500 block of SW 17th Street on November 5th about a man with a gun shot wound. When officers arrived, they found a 31 year old man with a gun shot wound to his hand and thigh.
The officers found a handgun inside the home in plain view. The man was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and a search warrant was served on the residence. Officers processed the scene for evidence and the 9 mm handgun was seized.
Officers determined that the gun went off while it was being handled by the man. On November 10th around 5 p.m. officers contacted the man at his home and cited him for discharging a firearm in the City.
