I still listen to albums (CDs and/or vinyl). On the liner notes, tracks get songwriting credits. Sadly, most streaming services don’t give songwriting credits. When I got deep into country music, I started seeing recurring names. One of them is Liz Rose.
The Songwriters Hall of Fame has announced its 2023 inductees. The institution said in a press release that Liz Rose will be inducted into the hall of fame this year.
You know who Liz Rose is. She either wrote or helped write:
Gary Allan – “Songs About Rain”
Eli Young Band – “Crazy Girl”
Little Big Town – “Sober” & “Girl Crush”
Carrie Underwood – “Cry Pretty”
And then. . .
Taylor Swift – “Tim McGraw,” “Picture to Burn,” “Teardrops on My Guitar,” “Stay Beautiful,” “Fearless, ” “You Belong with Me,” & “All Too Well”
. . . those are just some. Her name gets tossed around a lot in Nashville. Incredible songwriter and she has done a lot for country music. An award totally deserved!
