Lincoln Police are searching for a man wanted for a home invasion robbery Tuesday afternoon. Captain Todd Kocian says a young couple was in the kitchen cooking near NW 54th and W. Superior around 1:30 when they heard what they thought was a gunshot.

Kocian says a man kicked open the front door and forced his way into the house.  “He went upstairs, kicked in a door leading to a home office area and left with a white lock-box-style safe.”  The safe contained miscellaneous paperwork.

The suspect was last seen getting into an older-style silver SUV.  He is described as a black man with a shaved head, approximately 40 years of age, wearing sunglasses, a black hooded jacket, green pants and grey gloves.

Damage to the residence is estimated at $300 and the loss is estimated at $70.  The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Lincoln Police Department at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
