The long arm of the law reached out and snagged a man wanted for a pair of O’Reilly Auto Parts robberies last month. “31-year-old Jamal Carr of Lincoln has been arrested for the incidents after a lengthy investigation,” says LPD Public Information Officer Erika Thomas.
“Members of the Lincoln Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force took Carr into custody on Wednesday in Waverly.” Carr was taken to the Lancaster County Jail and booked for two counts of robbery and one count of attempted robbery.
Thomas says more than $4,000 was taken from the stores near 84th and Adams and 48th and Orchard on July 14 and 24. She says four days later officers responded to a report of a suspicious person at the Family Dollar store near 13th and High Street.
The caller’s description of the two suspects matched those from the O’Reilly robberies. Thomas says Carr was not able to steal anything from the store. The search continues for the second suspect.
