A Lincoln man was arrested Friday night after Lancaster County Sheriff’s deputies stopped his pickup for speeding on I-80 at the Waverly exit.  Chief Deputy Ben Houchin says they determined Ryan Day’s drivers license was revoked and he had two misdemeanor warrants in Lancaster County.

“The deputy removed Me. Day from the vehicle and asked if he had any weapons,” Houchin says.  “At that time Mr. Day admitted to having a handgun concealed between the driver’s seat and console.”

During a probable cause search of the pickup, the deputy found a .22 caliber Heritage Rough Rider revolver with five live rounds and one spent round.   A methamphetamine pipe was also found in the driver’s side door pocket.

Day was booked into the Lancaster County Adult Detention Facility for possession of a controlled substance, carrying a concealed weapon without disclosure and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

He was also cited for driving under revocation, unlawful display of plates, no valid registration and speeding.
