On Monday, November 4, around 3:30 p.m., Lincoln Police responded to the report of a body found underneath the Highway 77 overpass in the BNSF Hobson Yard, 801 W. ‘O’ Street.
It was determined to be 34-year-old Michael Atkins of Lexington, Nebraska, who was reported missing to LPD on September 11, 2024. His next-of-kin has been notified. Our thoughts are with their family during this difficult time.
An autopsy was conducted on November 6. At this time, the death does not appear to be suspicious, however the cause and manner of death are still under investigation.
