A 63-year-old Lincoln man has died a week after his pickup crashed into a large tree near 27th and South Street. Police say Brian Swanson was driving west on Plymouth Avenue near Bradfield Drive when his truck went off the street, drove through a yard and collided with the tree.
Two witnesses pulled Swanson out of his truck as the engine caught fire. LFR crews took Swanson to Bryan West where he died on Tuesday.
Investigators believe Swanson suffered a medical episode prior to the crash, which caused his foot to hit the accelerator.
