Lincoln Transportation and Utilities will hold an open house on Tuesday, December 2, to gather public input on a proposed reroute of StarTran’s Route 55 – Downtown Trolley.

The trolley route is being redesigned to better configure with the city’s future multi-modal transportation center, as well as additional StarTran riders, downtown visitors, and City and County employees. LTU has developed two potential routing options and is seeking community feedback before selecting a preferred route.

The meeting will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the “F” Street Community Center, Room 213, located at 1225 “F” Street. Residents can review the proposals and share input during the open house or online at lincoln.ne.gov/MMTC.

The final recommended route will be presented to the StarTran Advisory Board at its Dec. 11 meeting for a vote. If approved, the updated route would take effect on January 12, 2026.

Those seeking more information about the project may contact Carla Cosier, Assistant Director of Transit, at 402-441-7185 or ccosier@lincoln.ne.gov.
