Measles Confirmed in Lancaster County

The first case of measles since 1990 was confirmed on Wednesday by the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department.  The case involves an adult who was appropriately vaccinated and had no out-of-state travel.

Measles is a highly contagious disease that is spread through the air by breathing, coughing, and sneezing.

It’s possible that residents who were in the same locations as this person may have been exposed to measles, and they should fill out the risk assessment survey at http://lincoln.ne.gov/Measles

Walmart, 4700 N. 27th St. January 18 1 to 3:30 p.m.

Med Elite Urgent Care, 7120 S. 69th St. January 25 1:30 to 5 p.m.

The Health Department will release additional information at a 10:15 am briefing.
