The No. 16 Nebraska baseball team suffered an unhappy end to a lost weekend, as Ohio State hammered the Cornhuskers 10-1 Sunday in Columbus, Ohio. The Buckeyes swept NU by a combined 19-4 for the weekend.
Ohio State scored a run in the first, then took control with four in the fourth, then single runs in the fifth and sixth, building a 7-0 lead. After the Huskers scored one in the top of the seventh, the Buckeyes tallied three in the bottom of the seventh to put the game away.
Ohio State crushed Nebraska pitching for seven home runs on the game. Cooper Katskee (5-2) took the loss, allowing three home runs and five earned runs in 3.1 innings pitched. Noah Furcht and Mason Eckelman paced the Buckeyes with identical 3-for-4, two home run performances. Pierce Herrenbruck (5-3) grabbed the win for Ohio State, allowing just one run in seven innings.
