Swatting Call Sends LPD Officers to Calvert Elementary

By Tom Stanton May 5, 2026 | 3:18 PM

Around 2:15 Tuesday afternoon a call came into the main office at Calvert Elementary School on south 46th Street from someone with a San Francisco area code. “A male voice on the line made threats toward the school and those inside,” says LPD Public Information Manager Erika Thomas.

“Administrators followed LPS district policy and put the school in Secure. It’s since been lifted, and afternoon dismissal is proceeding as normal.” Thomas says LPD officers immediately responded to the scene and cleared the building, along with LPS Security and school administrators.

“No threats were found, and it was determined to be a swatting call. LPD and LPS take threats like these seriously and both teams worked together for a swift, smooth response,” Thomas says. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000.
