The Nebraska softball team will be able to stay at Rhonda Revelle Field at Bowlin Stadium all the way to the Women’s College World Series, as the Cornhuskers (46-6) were announced as the No. 4 national seed by the NCAA Selection Committee Sunday night. Nebraska will face South Dakota (20-34-1) in the first round of regionals Friday at 5:30 p.m. Pregame coverage will begin at 5:15 on B-107.3. The Coyotes upset Omaha in the Summit League Tournament to capture that conference’s automatic bid, while the Huskers earned an automatic bid to regionals by winning the Big Ten Tournament Saturday.
The WAC Tournament champions, Grand Canyon (52-8), and ACC at-large Louisville (44-12), will square off in the first game of the regional at 3 p.m. The four-team, double-elimination regional will feed into eight best-of-three super regionals. The winner of the Lincoln regional will face off against the winner of the Stillwater regional, featuring No. 13 national seed Oklahoma State, Eastern Illinois, Princeton and Stanford.
