Frahm one of three USA Softball Player of the Year finalists

For the second time in two years as a Cornhusker, Nebraska senior pitcher Jordy Frahm was named one of three finalists for USA Softball Player of the Year. Frahm, UCLA outfielder Megan Grant and Florida State infielder Isa Torres are the finalists for the award recognizing the top player in college softball, which will be given out at the Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City, Okla.

Frahm has a 19-4 record in the circle with a 1.15 ERA and 12 saves. She has struck out 225 batters while walking 28 for the season. She is also hitting .421 with 19 home runs, 50 RBI and 11 doubles.

Frahm and the No. 1 Nebraska softball team opens Super Regional play Thursday at Bowlin Stadium/Rhonda Revelle Field, as the Huskers face Oklahoma State beginning at 8 p.m. Pregame coverage begins at 7:45 p.m. on B-107.3 and KLIN.
