The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office says one person was killed in a two vehicle crash at NW 84th and West O Street around 7:15 Monday night.  LSO says based on the preliminary investigation, a Ford Focus was traveling southbound on NW 84th Street when it failed to stop at the intersection and collided with an eastbound Nissan Kicks on West O Street.

A passenger in the Ford Focus was thrown from the vehicle and taken to a local hospital, where they later died from their injuries. The identity of the person killed is not being released pending family notification.  LSO says eight people were transported to area hospitals for treatment, three from the Ford Focus and five from the Nissan Kicks.

The LSO Crash Reconstruction Team continues to investigate the crash. Speed, impairment, distracted driving, and seatbelt usage are all under investigation. LSO received  assistance from Southwest Fire & Rescue, Pleasant Dale Fire & Rescue, Malcolm Fire & Rescue, Crete Fire & Rescue, and StarCare.
