The Savannah Bananas are bringing their wildly popular Banana Ball World Tour to Memorial Stadium on Saturday. The exhibition game will face off against their rivals, the Firefighters. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Tickets for the event sold out through the team’s lottery system months ago, and organizers are warning fans to be cautious when purchasing tickets through third-party sellers or social media marketplaces because fraudulent tickets are common. Limited verified resale tickets may occasionally become available through authorized platforms.
University officials are also preparing for large crowds. Access to many buildings on UNL’s City Campus will be restricted Saturday afternoon, and faculty and staff are being encouraged to work remotely when possible. Visitors planning to drive to the game are urged to arrange parking in advance through university parking services.
The Savannah Bananas have become a national sensation thanks to their unique Banana Ball format, which features fast-paced rules, fan interaction, and choreographed entertainment throughout the game. One of the sport’s signature twists allows a fan-caught foul ball to count as an out.
