Nebraska pitcher and first baseman Jordy Frahm earned the Honda Award as softball’s player of the year. She is the second Cornhusker ever to earn the honor, joining Denise Day in 1985.

Frahm adds the Honda Award to an already lengthy litany of honors for her senior season, in which she was named the NFCA National Player of the Year, the USA Softball Player of the Year, first-team All-American, the Big Ten Pitcher of the Year and the Gold Glove winner for the nation’s best defensive pitcher.

This season, Frahm was 21-6 with a 1.37 ERA while striking out 251 and walking just 33. She also hit .403 with 20 home runs and 51 RBI with 11 doubles. She led Nebraska to its first Women’s College World Series in 13 years.

Frahm now becomes a finalist for the prestigious Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year and the Class of 2026 Honda Cup, to be presented live on Monday, July 27, at 6 p.m. CT on CBS Sports Network.
