An early morning fire caused an estimated $40,000 in damage at the Havelock Shops of Burlington Northern Santa Fe. Lincoln Fire and Rescue Public Information Officer MJ Lierman says crews responded just before 4:00 a.m. to a reported fire at a wheel shop at 67th and Burlington Avenue.
Lierman says crews found the fire had been contained to a metal dust collection system, preventing it from spreading throughout the building. Lierman says no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
