A 9-year-old girl was seriously injured in a Labor Day boating accident near Cedar Creek. Cass County Sheriff Robert Sorenson says emergency crews, Nebraska Game and Parks, and the Cass County Sheriff’s Office were sent to the 2000 block of Sunset Drive around 1:30 p.m. for a reported boating accident.
Sorenson says the preliminary investigation indicates the girl was being pulled on an inflatable tube behind a boat when the tube collided with a docked boat. The child was treated at the scene before being airlifted to the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha for further treatment.
Investigators aren’t releasing information about her current condition. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is investigating the accident.
