The Big Red Rebuild renovations to Memorial Stadium will force football season ticket holders to choose new seats for both the 2027 and 2028 seasons, the Nebraska Athletic Department announced Wednesday. The reseat comes as the $600 million renovation to the over-100-years-old venue will take roughly half the seats for the stadium temporarily out of service.
The athletic department also announced the practice of grandfathering; allowing fans who have held season tickets for many years to continue purchasing them without donating to the university, will end after this season.
Fans will have until Feb. 11, 2027, to donate to Nebraska athletics before the donation rankings are locked and fans are given an appointment to select their seats and parking. Those appointments for the 2027 season will take place in the spring of 2027. The stadium will hold roughly 65,000 fans for the 2027 season. Then, after the 2027 season and once the renovations are complete for the 2028 season, the stadium will be reseated again.
