Nebraska wing Pryce Sandfort was one of 11 Big Ten men’s basketball players named to the preseason All-Big Ten team by the conference Monday afternoon. Sandfort and Michigan State’s Jeremy Fears, Jr., were only two unanimous selections by the panel of media that cover Big Ten basketball. Sandfort becomes the fourth Cornhusker to be named preseason All-Big Ten, joining James Palmer Jr. (2018), Terran Petteway (2014) and Keisei Tominaga (2023).
Sandfort was selected first-team All-Big Ten last season by the conference coaches after averaging 18.1 points per game while ranking fourth nationally in 3-pointers per game with 3.7. He hit 41.6 percent of his shots from behind the arc, and his 129 3-pointers made broke the school record for threes in a season and ranked second in Big Ten history in three-pointers in a season. He averaged 21 points per game as Nebraska advanced to its first-ever Sweet 16 in program history.
The Huskers will open the exhibition season Friday night by hosting Saint Louis. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on the Huskers Radio Network and streamed on B1G+. A limited number of tickets for the game are available by visiting Huskers.com. Single-season tickets for all of Nebraska’s regular-season games go on sale on Tuesday, Oct. 6.
