The Lincoln Police Department has arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with an armed robbery at a north Lincoln apartment complex that left a woman’s vehicle damaged by gunfire. LPD Public Information Manager Erika Thomas says Cedrae Brown was arrested Tuesday afternoon by the department’s SWAT team and narcotics investigators.
Thomas says officers were called to the Northbrook Apartments on Fletcher Avenue around 5 a.m. on October 8th after a verbal argument reportedly escalated, ending with multiple loud bangs. “A 26-year-old Lincoln woman, told officers she was in her vehicle when she was told to get out and held at gunpoint with a rifle.”
Thomas says Brown took $600 in cash from the victim and more than $1,500 from her cash app account before an unknown man shot at her vehicle in the garage. The victim was not injured. Damage to the vehicle and drywall totaled approximately $650.
Thomas says investigators are still working to identify and locate the second person involved in the incident. The arrest followed an earlier attempt to take Brown into custody.
On October 9th, investigators conducting surveillance at his apartment tried to arrest him, but police say Brown got into his vehicle, reversed into an investigator’s vehicle and drove away, sideswiping another vehicle in the process.
Brown was located and arrested around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at his apartment in the area of North 49th Street and Baldwin Avenue.
