A Lincoln Fire and Rescue battalion chief is promoted to assistant chief. Mike Smith has been with the department since 1997 and was hired as a firefighter.
The post on Twitter states that Smith will be responsible for operations and staffing.
Smith will start his role as assistant chief on November 25th.
