Potatoes Took Over Her House

By News Jul 23, 2020 | 8:09 AM

So COVID-19 hits and some people took Shelter-In-Place as a time to stock up on food, plop down in front of the TV and veg out. Sadly, that meant a lot of people didn’t get to see friends, family member and love interests. Then there were other people decided to pack up and move in with people who were the friends, love interests and family so they could all be “in this together” (yes, I said it. Sorry. I hate that phrase, too.)

When people decided to vacate for a period of time, they took all the essentials, pets, clothes, bathroom items, etc. Some too food that would spoil. But leaving non-perishable items isn’t an uncommon occurrence. I mean, they don’t spoil. What could go wrong?

If they are potatoes, quite a bit.

Anyone who has bought potatoes, you will find when they sit around for a little bit, they start having sprouts come out, if they don’t get squishy. In the case of Donna Poree’, she left her potatoes alone for 3 months and those spouts grew…A LOT!

As you can see it looked like a scene out of Little Shop of Horrors or War of the Worlds.

As Donna said,

“As I opened the front door, I noticed a strange shape at the back of the kitchen. As the light was off and shutters down, I didn’t realize it was the potatoes. It was only after opening the shutters that I took note of this extraordinary sight. I was terrified at first, but after realizing what it was I laughed a lot and shared a video of the plant on Snapchat.”

The good for Donna, she took this chance to take lemons and make lemonade, or in this case, plant the potatoes to make mashed potatoes.
