Update: LPD confirms to KLIN News that one person is dead following the collapse of a home at 27th and Manse Avenue. Names have not been released. KLIN News will provide that information when it becomes available.
Lincoln Fire and Rescue responded to a structural collapse near 27th and Manse Avenue in the Country Club around 1:00 Thursday afternoon.
Initial reports indicated a tree feel onto a house and caused a chimney to collapse, injuring one person. Lincoln Police is assisting LFR with blocking off traffic in the area. For the public’s safety, 27th Street will be closed from Sheridan to Bradfield for an extended period of time.
Crews were removing tree limbs near the home Thursday afternoon. Drivers should plan to use an alternate route.
