An arrest is made in the theft of a vehicle just after 10 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Lincoln Police were called to the NP Mart at 28th and O Street. A 55 year old man told officers he parked his 2015 Kia Sedona in the lot and went into the store. He said the vehicle was left unlocked and the keys were in the ignition.
A few minutes later, the man saw a juvenile female enter the vehicle and drive off. That teen returned to the store on foot a few minutes later. The victim saw the girl and gave chase but he was unable to catch her.
After a brief foot chase, a 15 year old girl was later taken into custody by police near 29th and M Street.
The girl was referred for theft by unlawful taking and was booked at the Youth Assessment Center.
The stolen vehicle was recovered.
