A California man was arrested after nine handguns and suspected drug money were found during a traffic stop on I-80 near Goehner.  The sheriff’s department says the stop was made August 25.

A Seward County Sheriff’s  deputy stopped a Nissan Altima for a traffic violation.  During the stop the deputy became increasingly suspicious that the driver was involved in criminal activity.  The sheriff’s department says reasonable suspicion of criminal activity was developed and the deputy deployed his K9.

The dog alerted to the odor of drugs coming from inside the vehicle.  A search of the vehicle uncovered the nine handguns and several
magazines. Two of the guns have been confirmed stolen. The search also revealed nearly $20,000 in what is believed to be drug proceeds.

31 year old Demitris Bow was arrested for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of U.S. drug currency. Bow was booked into the Seward County Detention Center.
