The Lincoln Public Schools Board of Education has made a change to the 2022-2023 school calendar to give teachers two planning days without students in attendance.
“There are many staff members who have done what we refer to as class covers during the first semester of this year, which has taken precious planning time away from all staff,” Gausman says.
He says there have also been additional supervision duties due to the limited availability of substitutes in a tight labor market. The board voted to waive the second reading and approve the change.
The two additional teacher planning days approved by the board are December 9 and February 21.
