An employee at Tree House Child Development Center, a daycare in Hickman, was arrested Saturday, Dec. 10 jailed for Felony Child Abuse. The Lancaster Sheriff’s Office says on Friday, Dec. 9, Courtney Anderson of Lincoln, 29, sprayed a three-year-old child in the face three times with a spray bottle containing a cleaning solution used to wipe down tables.
Chief Deputy Sheriff Ben Houchin said Anderson sat the three-year-old down in the corner and sprayed the child in the face. Anderson then went to wipe a table down and sprayed the child again after she finished. “She repeated this incident one more time for a total of three sprays in the face,” said Houchin.
The child’s eyes were reported to be red and irritated that evening. LSO reviewed video footage of the incident, and a deputy arrested Anderson on Saturday morning.
