AAA is providing a way to keep drunk drivers off the roads this Christmas and New Year. Through its Tow to Go program, those who have imbibed a little too much shouldn’t even think about getting behind the wheel. A simple phone call to AAA, and a dispatcher will send a tow truck free of charge to tow the caller and their car to a safe location within a 10-mile radius.
The program goes active at 6 PM Friday, Dec. 23. It will run until 6 AM Monday, Jan. 2.
Tow to Go is free whether or not you’re a AAA member. Interstate towing is possible between Nebraska and Iowa, so long as the distance is within the 10-mile limit. AAA advises, however, that the Tow to Go program should be treated strictly as a last resort. To use the service, dial (855) 2-TOW-2-GO or (855) 286-9246.
