The People’s City Mission will be making the holiday season a bit brighter for homeless and low-income families in need. Pastor Tom Barber is the CEO and says they will be hosting their annual Santa’s Workshop Christmas Toy Giveaway on Thursday.
He says from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. those in need can get free Christmas gifts for their children at the Help Center near 68th and P Street. “We’ve got thousands of toys, we’ve got gloves, We’ve got blankets and diapers to give away. We actually have food baskets with hams in them,” Barber says.
He says they will also have free gift wrapping available and Santa will be making an appearance. The toys collected have been donated by individuals, businesses and organizations from the Lincoln area.
