The public is invited to the annual 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony at the Veterans Memorial Garden in Antelope Park (3200 Veterans Memorial Dr.) on Wednesday, September 11.

The Parks and Recreation Department and Veterans Memorial Garden Advisory Council (VMGAC) will begin the ceremony at 10 AM. The free ceremony will include members of the VMGAC posting a wreath by the Post 9/11 Monument, a reading of the names on the Post 9/11 Monument, and brief remarks by VMGAC Vice Chairperson Craig Anderson.

The wreath recognizes those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, as well as those who responded to the attacks on that day and since.

In the case of inclement weather, the garden event will be moved to the Auld Pavilion located just west of the garden.

The Veterans Memorial Garden in Antelope Park is open year-round from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. For more information, visit lincoln.ne.gov.
