Lincoln Police are searching for a suspect in a shooting late Saturday night near a convenience store at 33rd and Holdrege.  LPD Assistant Chief Jason Stille says officers responded around 11:30 p.m.  “Upon arrival, they located a 20-year-old Lincoln woman who sustained gunshot wounds to her back.” She remains in stable condition at a Lincoln hospital.
Stille says they found at least 17 high-powered rifle casings at the scene.
LPD officers also responded to the area of 20th and Cornhusker on Saturday evening on a report of shots fired. A caller told LPD that 51-year-old David Blackburn of Lincoln had fired several rounds at a building after a verbal altercation.
Police say bullet holes were found on the rear passenger side of a vehicle and six bullet holes were located in a wall near the door where the caller had been. Blackburn was found at a nearby hotel with the gun and was arrested and booked for attempted 2nd degree assault, use of deadly weapon to commit a felony, discharge of a firearm near a vehicle or building and terroristic threats.
Anyone with information about the 33rd and Holdrege shooting is asked to call police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
