A Lincoln teenager was arrested after police say he rammed two vehicles while driving a stolen car near 51st and Calvert just before 4:00 Monday morning. LPD Captain Todd Kocian says officers responded after a woman reported someone was trying to steal her 2015 Toyota Camry and was ramming other vehicles.
“Arriving officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, however the vehicle fled,” Kocian says. “Officers pursued the vehicle to a parking lot at 48th & Van Dorn where the
driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot.”
Kocian says he was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit. He was booked at the Youth Detention Center for criminal mischief, theft by unlawful taking, operating a vehicle to avoid arrest and obstructing government operations.
Police say a 2015 Chevy Silverado and a 2006 Subaru Forester were damaged.
